Little Britain OMHA Women’s Hockey Teams (1969 – 1974)

Considered pioneers for hockey in the region, the Little Britain Jet-Sets teams’ accomplishments and success inspired young women in the sport for generations to come. Setting the stage for the future of girls and women’s hockey throughout Central Ontario, the junior and senior teams from 1969 to 1974 began playing organized competitive hockey in Little Britain, which resulted in the game’s spread throughout the Tri-County and Central Ontario regions. The Jet-Sets squad won three consecutive All-Ontario championships and junior and senior teams captured several Ontario Minor Hockey Association league titles. Through courage and vision to move their sport forward, the teams have had a profound and positive effect on local female athletes ever since.

We applaud this wonderful group of ladies for introducing women's hockey to our area and for encouraging opportunities for more teams to form and jumpstarting the growth into what girl’s hockey is today!
